Workshops for Educators
The Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. Workshops for Educators Series offers Industry 4.0 workshops for K-16 educators to learn more about today’s advanced manufacturing industry and career opportunities. Through facility tours at Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology’s Advanced Manufacturing Center in East Hartford and hands-on experiences, participants will have the opportunity to learn about current and new technologies, see advanced manufacturing equipment in action, and explore available resources. The series is designed to provide educators, administrators and school counselors with tools and information to help their students start preparing for a rewarding career in advanced manufacturing.

Introduction to Additive Technologies for Educators
Learn about cutting-edge materials and technologies used in Additive Manufacturing and the variety of career opportunities for your students. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for any educator interested in going beyond desktop 3D printing and learning about the latest technologies and future of advanced manufacturing. Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology offer tours of the Advanced Manufacturing Center for students, educators, and parents. CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center houses a variety of leading-edge technology, including equipment used for additive manufacturing, precision machining, and inspection to expose your students to the latest and greatest! Advance scheduling is required.
Please note: CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center is an ITAR facility.
All visitors, students and adults, are required to be vetted in advance of any visit or tour. Names and citizenship data of the students and their chaperones will be needed in advance of any tour. We do not require students to provide any IDs unless he/she is from an embargoed country and has a Green Card. Adult chaperones will be asked to sign in and present proof of citizenship. CCAT relies on your school to confirm and verify student information.
What you need to know:
Please bring with you and present an acceptable form of identification to prove U.S. citizenship.
Supply the names, name of company/school, email address of adult chaperone(s) and citizenship data, in advance, for vetting purposes.
If any visitor, student or adult, is from an embargoed country (ex: Cuba, China, etc.) but is a green card holder, they will be allowed to participate in the tour. If they are from an embargoed country and do not have a green card, they cannot attend.
If a student or adult chaperone is from a foreign country that is not on the embargoed list, they will be given a red badge to distinguish them from the others. CCAT staff will have to properly secure any ITAR parts before the tour can begin.
Safety glasses will be supplied.
